High School Restart Plan

Schools throughout the state of Ohio have been working on plans for a safe and responsible back-to-school season. Students attend CCTC to develop skills and earn credentials to make them ready to work out of high school or prepare them for success. These are skills that require hands-on experience and are difficult to achieve in a remote learning environment. This is why we have been working with the Lawrence County Health Department, the Lawrence County JVSD Teacher’s Association, and the county’s seven school districts to create a plan. Together we have developed a plan that is adaptive to the current state of the virus and safely allows our students to pursue the career goals at the career center. Below are some of the highlights of the CCTC high school restart plan. You are encouraged to read the full plan by clicking here.As of this posting, the first day of the school year will be Monday, August 24th.Student attendance is based on the county’s status as determined by the Ohio Pu…

Dear Parent or Guardian:
We hope you and your student(s) are enjoying your summer!  We look forward to seeing everyone again in the fall!  I know there are many unanswered questions regarding how the upcoming school year will look with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and we will continue to pass the information along to you as plans are made. To ensure that we provide the best quality instruction to all of our students, we are collecting information regarding internet access and a preferred method of instruction.
Note: You do not need to complete the paper survey that you received in the mail when you complete this online survey.

ORIGINAL (May 4, 2020):
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced society to cancel so many events. None of those are more sacred to us than our completion ceremony. We all agree that our students deserve recognition for their accomplishments. Unfortunately, we also have to weigh the risk that a large gathering of people creates during our current crisis. For that reason, we are not able to conduct a tr…

High School Due Dates and Computer Turn-Ins

High School Students and Parents,

Hello again! We have been thinking about you all and hope you are doing well. You are probably aware of the order Governor DeWine made on Monday. If you are not aware, he stated that Ohio schools will continue to conduct distance learning through the end of this school year. Clearly, there are a lot of unanswered questions about how the remainder of the school year will be handled for high school students here at Collins Career Technical Center.
Current School Work We conducted a total of four work exchange events on April 8th and April 9th where students could turn in their completed work and receive their next packet of work. Packets were mailed to students who do not have internet access. Senior work is considered complete with the first packet of work and should not expect a second paper packet. The work drop off box for paper assignments remains open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. It is located at the high sc…
