Image
Parents, Staff, and Students:  The Collins Career Technical Center has been notified that two high school staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.  CCTC students and staff have been diligent about wearing proper facial coverings, hand washing, and social distancing. Our facility has been properly sanitized. We are working with the Lawrence County Health Department to make sure all protocol is being followed and those who have had possible contact are being notified.  Out of an abundance of caution, we advise you to monitor your students' health, follow the CDC guidelines for people who have had close contact, and contact your primary care physician if you develop symptoms.  LCJVSD is continuing to monitor the situation and will provide additional information as needed. We hope for a full and successful recovery for the staff member and the student.  Sincerely, Stephen K. Dodgion Superintendent  File:  https://cctc.link/jm3

High School Virtual Learning 11/23-11/24

Image
All high school classes will take place virtually on Monday and Tuesday this week, and Thanksgiving break will go on as planned through the rest of the week. Juniors will participate in their virtual learning as usual, and lab instructors will reach out to seniors via email, Google Classroom, or other means to provide instructions on how to participate virtually for their lab assignments for those days. The staff is permitted to conduct virtual learning from their homes; however, the main campus building will be open to them if needed. This change applies only to high school students and staff. The adult programs will continue with their regular schedule.
