High School Due Dates and Computer Turn-Ins

High School Students and Parents,

Hello again! We have been thinking about you all and hope you are doing well. You are probably aware of the order Governor DeWine made on Monday. If you are not aware, he stated that Ohio schools will continue to conduct distance learning through the end of this school year. Clearly, there are a lot of unanswered questions about how the remainder of the school year will be handled for high school students here at Collins Career Technical Center.

Current School Work

We conducted a total of four work exchange events on April 8th and April 9th where students could turn in their completed work and receive their next packet of work. Packets were mailed to students who do not have internet access. Senior work is considered complete with the first packet of work and should not expect a second paper packet. The work drop off box for paper assignments remains open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. It is located at the high school entrance on the main campus. The packets that were picked up and mailed contain all of the work for the remainder of this school year.

All work (paper and online) for both juniors and seniors must be submitted by Wednesday, May 6, 2020. This includes credit recovery coursework.  Paper assignments should be handed in at the dropbox as listed in the previous paragraph. Students who are conducting their distance learning online should continue to follow the instructions they receive from their teacher.

Computer Turn-Ins

Chromebooks and other laptops that were issued to students this year must be handed into a member of the IT staff.
They will be available at the high school front entrance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The first day will be Monday, May 4th and the last day will be Friday, May 15th.

Completion Ceremony

This year's CCTC completion ceremony will not be taking place as scheduled on May 14th. Decisions about how the typical end-of-year events will look have not been made at this time.

More Updates to Come

We understand that this post does not answer all of the lingering questions. The CCTC administrative team is continuing to meet virtually to develop plans for the end of this school year. Please check this blog and our social media outlets for more updates as they come. All of the dates and times mentioned in this and future updates can be found on the CCTC school calendar at http://collins-cc.edu/calendar
